Rehearsal Dinner in Queens...

I was planning on booking Cafe on the Green for our rehearsal dinner but I read an article in the paper saying they are probably going to be shut down (something to do with the owner being involved with the mafia). My luck! LOL

I am looking for a place in the Bayside/Whitestone area to have the rehearsal dinner at...

Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks

I don't think they're shutting down. You can always call and ask. My stepfather knows them pretty well and says a lot of what they say in the paper is blown out of proportion. I think all they were really doing is playing around with their taxes (they had two books, the real ones and the ones that they used to file taxes) Not uncommon in the restaurant business.

I had my eparty there and everything was wonderful!

George Martins -- Douglaston
Luigi's -- New Hyde Park
Pappazzio -- Bayside
Burbon Street -- Bayside
Il Tuscano -- Douglaston

Don't know how many people or how fancy you want to go.

I'm in the same area as you and have no clue where to have my rehearsal dinner.

I went to a party recently in whitestone at Il Vesuvio, I think it's on 149th street and 12th Avenue? they have a party room, the food was good.

There's also Gino's Trattoria on Bell Blvd. in Bayside, then there are a few restaurants on utopia pkwy between 19th-22nd avenues.

I wouldnt worry about caffe on the green, theres always rumors that its shutting down, its all bs.

I had my E-party there as well and I can only say that the food was good.

And they charged me tax, which I thought was funny because we asked if we pay all cash could they drop the tax and they said no b/c they pay their taxes.
