Rehearsal Dinner Invitation Poll......

OK so
HOW many of you did or plan on doing Rehearsal Dinner Invitations?

And what did you write in them?

Please state anything you want to add below!

I'm trying to find out if this is common and if I should do this.

~Uncertain Kerri!

PS - IF I do them.. I won't do a mail RSVP too. It will be either email or phone.

PPS - IF you did them and have a pic.. PLEASE POST it!!

im going to do RD invites, however, not spending much on them... i may even set up an evite or even email the info to people. we are only inviting parents, grandparents, BP and their guests, and anyone that has a role in the ceremony. so only necessary people.

This hadn't even occurred to me. I know we have a lot of OOT guests and I think they'll mostly be invited so maybe I should. Maybe it'll end up whether we have money to or not, but right now I'm going to say no.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitation Poll......

We did them as an insert in our pocketfold invites. We had a smallish wedding and an even smaller RD and I DIYed my invites so it was super easy to keep track of who got an invite in their pocketfold and who didn't. Might be an option for you..? Also, I just did email RSVP on them and regardless of the fact that they were only family and bridal party that were invited, less than 25% of them RSVPd! So I'd say you might have to expect to be making some last minute calls to get your RD head count! Just my two cents!

I will most likely do them too- but keep them simple and most likely a DIY kind of thing. Postage keeps going up- I will need another job after all the postage I will spend on invites and RSVP cards.

My girlfriend whom is getting married this Sunday (yaaaaaaaaaaay) I can't wait to come and be apart of her special day!!!

ook anyways she printed out herself on pretty paper from a stationary store:

Practice makes perfect it's true what they say,
to walk down the isle on our wedding day.

We'll all just discuss it; we wont make a fuss,
no need for a run through, just dinner/drinks a must.

please join blah blah....

There hall just like our hall doesn't let you do a run through, so i thought this was pretty cute and simple.

Hey Kerri!!! I didn't vote, but I have an answer for you. It depends on how big your RD is going to be, like how many people. I kind of feel like in our situation (omgomgomg) it may be a good idea. That way people will be organized. There are a bunch of people! We didn't do them but we had a very small RD, and a lot of people couldn't make it so we didn't do them.

I am not doing them, I don't really think it is necessary. It is kinda like a known fact that they will all go out to dinner after the rehersal.

My friend did send them out for her wedding a few months ago. The invite was really cute, it was just printed out on this wedding paper that she got from Oriental Trading. This is what it said (I dug it out for you!):
Practice makes perfect, it's true what they say
Please come for a run through before our big day
Meet at the church at 7 on the dot
Where Michele and Tim will soon tie the knot!
We'll practice the ceremony and iron out the kinks
Then its off to Blue Moon for dinner and drinks
[All the information followed]

What I did was printed up little cards (I had extra rsvp cards) that invited special guests and family to the rehersal dinner and an rsvp spot on there too. That way I got both rsvp's at the same time. Killed 2 birds with one stone

Yes. I will probably do them myself to save money, but I think it's a good thing to do so there are no excuses that they forgot!

since mine is basically only parents and bp I will most likely be doing an evite. I did this for my brdmds request cards(couldn´t mail them b.c i´m overseas) and I liked it. people can rsvp with a comment on there if they want.

I dont know... i told FH this is the one thing i dont want to have to plan or handle... if FMIL has to do it, i doubt there will be any invitations... unless she gets help from one of her neices or sisters...

i got one for the wedding that FH was in, in august... and it was pretty much pointless... because they didnt ask for a response...
