Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Thanks, did you have those made or did you make them yourself. They are really cute.

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Made them using envelopements.

Sonicstef-

I honestly think you missed your calling as a wedding planner. You can just tell that besides being so creative and making everything look perfect, you love making the invitations, favors, cootie catchers etc. I bet you could start a business from recemmendations off this board alone. Just a thought.

I wish I had 1/8 of your talent.

Edited to say, I still can't figur eout how to email digital photos!!!!

Here's a website I found... If it doesn't go directly to the Rehearsal Dinner invites, there should be something to click on to get you there!

RD Invites Wording

Stef, I LOVE yours!

Stef, did you make those RD invites yourself??

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Thanks Jennyg. Too bad no one wants to pay me real money for my help :D

Envelopment are these paper fold envelope thingies. www.envelopments.com

I totally agree Stef. You are the most talented bride I have ever seen! Everything you've done for your wedding is amazing. Your website, placecard candles, rehearsal dinner invites, etc. I also think that you should pursue a career in it.

I think people would pay!! You have a talent

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

You know whats funny...a few brides (not from this site) have emailed me asking if I would make their programs, invites whatever. So I told them how much it would cost based on what they wanted (being very conservative with my estimate with full knowledge that Im not a professional) and they all are pretty much shocked. Case in point, someone wanted me to do 200 programs for $50 includnig materials! Hello?? The paper alone costs more than that! Never mind the time/energy to design it, printer/ink/time to print it, time/aggravation to fold, assemble and ship.

Its very frustrating because I would love to have a side job doing these types of things because I get a kick out of it...but no one wants to pay for it :D

So im stuck in my boring job until Martha Stewart rescues me

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Stef, I think people think they'll save money if you do it for them, but in the end its not really a saving, right, once you figure out the $ for your work?

Karin (the seamstress) told me I can sell the hairpins that I made The question is who would pay $ for them, such that work is paid for...

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Thanks, I see they only give you retailers in your area, no prices...is the paper/materials very expensive? Did you use any special program to print them?

If it were in my budget, I'd pay you to make and design them for me, they look great!

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Alina - It depends on how you calculate 'savings'. If you were to have programs or whatever custom made, those girls would still saving a bundle by paying me over a 'real' business. But if you compare it to buying standard stuff from Rexcraft or other discount mass merchants, then they are spending more.

Cippy: I dont know where in LI those are sold but you can buy them at Kates Paperie - but they are a little pricey. But you can buy imiatation envelopments for a lot less at my favorite spot, Paper Access. Or you if you are handy with a paper cutter, then you can make them yourself. They are just thick paper that is cut and folded in a certain way.
Edited to add that I used MSWord to print them, no special program needed. They were very easy to make.

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Thanks Stef, where is paper access?

Sonicstef Posted:

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Opps..sorry. Its on 18th Street between 6th & Broadway (i think) in NYC. They also have a website but its very hard to navigate unless you know exactly what your looking for.

Thanks very much

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Stef, I meant the rexcraft guys... Although there is a premium to be paid for custom service.

Re: rehearsal dinner invitation wording...

Ours were really simple-I used computer invites with Vellum Overlay that I bought in Staples. We didn't actually rehearse because we got married at our hall, but we wanted to thank our BP & give our families a chance to mingle.
