I'm hoping to send out the invitations for our rehearsal dinner today. My only question is for my Ring Bearer, Flower Girl, Junior BM and Junior GM...we would like to try to have only 1 parent each for the church and dinner otherwise I feel we're going to be too many people at the church and it will be hectic and then very crowded for the RD. Plus we're not even having significant others at the RD just the BP members. Would it look bad on the invitation if I were to put '(Flower Girl's name) and Parent'...and so on for the other members?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
hmmmm....well i def understand your concern, but i feel like even if on the invite it says parent (singular) parents will both still come, unless you verbally tell them

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
i think you should be able to do what you want....
but just be careful with writing parent. i think some people would see that as 'oh ok we both go with out child'. I think people don't realize the actually wording of the invite and just assume...so maybe word of mouth would be better. or write child's name + mother's name (since most likely the mother would go with their child (well considering the circumstances)
this is a tricky one...good luck melissa!!
OH and I hope all is well I know you must be busy...but we miss ya on here!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
I know my RB's mom will be the only one coming...our Junior GM's parents I can just tell them...my Junior BM's mom is my BM so I don't have to worry about that...BUT my FG's parents don't go anywhere without each other because the wife is scared to drive by herself...but if both parents attend then it looks bad and is not fair to the others .

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
hmmm thats a tough one. I've had to make exceptions for my wedding guests for different reasons (involving who's kids can come). I think since that mom doesn't like to drive by herself then you should have her husband come. If she's anything like my mom when it comes to driving, then she'll be a nervous wreck the whole night!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
aww yea that's tricky. Well what if you don't specify to anyone about bringing guests. It sounds like most people are coming by themselves anyway and it's just an issue with this one child?? Or maybe im' misunderstanding.

If I don't specify I believe all the parents will come...then we'll be up to 30+ people which I know it's only 4 more people if both parents coming but I'm not even inviting my married BP members with the SI's....ya know. What's good for one needs to be good for the other.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invite Question...
I would speak to the parents of the flower girl/ring bearer and explain this to them before sending the invitation. Then, if all goes smoothly- write both first names on the invite... How many extra people would it be to invite both parents? 2 or 3? It might be worth it to just invite them.... In my opinion....
