Rehearsal Dinner Invites

I'm creating the rehearsal dinner invites on my computer but have a question regarding wording. The dinner will be held at the home of my fiance's family. Should I still use the words 'in honor of (bride) and (groom)' if I'm sending out the invites? Or should I leave that part out all together? It just seems weird sending out an invitation in honor of myself. Any ideas?

Rehearsal Dinner Invites

How about In celebration of the pending nuptials of..... or - Please join us to celebrate the evening before our wedding day. Or if you have a lot of out-of-town guests you could make it somewhat of a Welcome dinner which is what we did.

Wording???

Are you just printing them for your inlaws or are you throwing the party? I was going to print up invites and let my future mother in law send them. I don't know.

We're having it at my FMIL's house but technically both families are hosting. We're all contributing and helping out for the dinner.

Invites?

I never heard of sending rehearsal invites before coming on this board. Its always been word of mouth in my experience. Are invites necessary?

How about : In honor of our Wedding please join us (you are invited to join us) for a celebratory dinner for our friends and family on month, day, date.
