My FH thinks all the 'invites' are getting out of hand. I just happen to see a RD invite that I like, but if they're not necessary, I won't waste the money.
What do you girls think?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
I would get invites but not crazy expencive ones, they have nice invitations at crown shops, even ones u can make on your own that come out great!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
I think it depends on how many people you're having. My brother had just the bridal party (total of 8 people plus their dates) and parents and readers so formal invitations weren't really necessary. Since we have so many OOT people we will probably do a bigger rehersal dinner and therefore send out invites.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Hey Jenn -- We're having quite a few people at our RD so we have to send invites - but besides that, I just LOVE invitations! I think it totally sets the tone for your party. So get them! You know you want them ..... **twisting Jenny5150's arm**

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
I did them but only because I wanted to - they're def. not necessary. Mine were more of an FYI type thing - it didn't include any RSVP info or anything. It is good just to make sure everyone's on the same page though....

LOL!!!! You're so right...I want them.
But we don't have a lot of people coming to the dinner, just our BP (& guests) and parents. I think it's something like 35 people. Then again...that means I don't need more than 20 invites! Hmmm...then it won't be that bad!

Hi Patty! These are the samples of ours -- we're having an old fashioned late night cocktail party.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Lea, did you make those by yourself or are they preprinted? I love them!!! Where are you having the RD? We don't have a location yet. We thought about Ruvo in Greenlawn. Have you been there yet?
Patty, what ones are you looking at or thinking about?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
We just closed on our house about 3 weeks ago. Holy Crap its a TON of work! Wedding planning has been put on the back burner for a while, but we're 4 months from today ... so here I am again! Jenn and Patty - we should meet for lunch one day. I'll FM you my #.
Rain Day Spa??? Take me with you!!! BTW - check out Cold Stone Creamery while your there -- yummmmm!
I wish I made them myself! A very very creative friend came up with the idea! We're hoping to have the RD in our house, but the # of people is getting a little out of control, so a family friend with a big house has offered to be a back up. And you just reminded me that I've been meaning to stop by Ruvo - I know the owners sister. If they can accomodate you, I've heard great things about them!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Sounds good Lea! WOW! House huh? Congratulations!!
Jenn- I've been to Ruvo. Food is great! Last time I went it was really loud though. They said they were doing some type of insulation job to absorb the sound more, but I haven't been there since to check it out! Definitely go there for dinner before you book.
We are having a big RH (45-50pp). We booked at Co-co's in Huntington. There banquet rooms were re-done and they are beautiful!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Lea, we definitely should do dinner. should we bring the boys? Congrats on the house! I figured that's why you haven't been on much! I hear ya' about what a pain in the arse a home is!
Patty, We've been to Ruvo a couple of times and we really liked the food & atmosphere. I don't know if they were up when you went last, but they have these panels on the ceiling that look like they're meant for sound absortion. I don't recall it ever being too loud. We were thinking about having it at Co-Co's or Lola. (Ruvo's private room would probably be too small.)

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Those must have been the sound absorption thingies they were talking about. And yes- the food is VERY yummy! Check out Co-Co's...they have 2 banquet rooms- one accomodates 40-70 people and the other does 20-40 (I think). They are pretty reasonable considering the amount of food you get! Great service too! Oh- and I looooove LOLA too. We must have the same taste in food. These are all my favorite restaurants around!
