Maybe Domenico's in Levittown, right down Hempstead Tpke - probably about 4 miles.

Baci on Old Country Road might be good. They don't normally take reservations, but I think they do for large groups - not sure if they have a private room though.
The City Cafe on Stewart Ave. used to be good, but I haven't been there in years.
I know lots of people love Dominico's, but I am not really a fan. I think there are much better Italian restaurants around, JMO.

Cafe Grappa on Hempstead Tpke that is where I had my shower they have a private room and it really nice and the food is excellent espically the Chicken Francise

Oh, I love that place! Their lobster ravioli is so delicious too (if you like seafood!).
