Rehearsal Dinner on thursday for Sat. night wedding?

Has anyone done this. The only reason we are considering it is because we can't seem to find an affordable restaurant in the Syosset/Woodbury area for Friday night.

We are having around 35 guests, any suggestions?

We're doing ours on a Wed for a Fri night. I think 2 days before is better than the night before so you can relax the night before your wedding.

we are doing ours on a thurs and we are having a saturday wedding because the day before im going to be so busy

Yeah i agree. Having the day in between will let us relax and we can have a few drinks at the RD without worrying about getting to bed early and stuff.

I don't know why i didn't think of this before!

we did ours the Thursday before and let me tell you, I don't think I could have handled it if it were the day before. Having that one extra day in between is really needed IMO.

Thanks so much for your responses. It looks like Thursday is the day! does anyone have restaurant suggestions in the syosset area?

preferrably one with a private room/area

we're doing the friday before the wedding (im getting married the day before you and our RD is oct 28th)

i didn't want the stress - and we're probably just doing something low key so i don't have any suggestions, but what about something is woodbury commons like Graffiti? or Major's steakhouse?

We are doing it the night before - we really had to.

Too many important people are coming from out of town and won't be there Thursday (we are getting married on a Saturday).

However, I have a friend who did it on a Thursday and it worked out great.

we are doing ours on a Thursday night and we are not getting married until Sunday. I have to go back to work on Friday and Saturday i need to finish stuff up.
Generally I think its 2 days before the wedding but there is no hard rule...

Ours is Thursday for a Saturday wedding, too!!
You save money and get to relax the day before.
I personally don't like having a rehearsal to attend just hours before a wedding. Weddings are tiring, I need all the rest I can get!

I am in the same boat as you. Wish I could do it thursday and get that extra day in...but most of my close family (dad and grandparents included) won't be in till Friday.

same here...i didn't really want it to be the night before, but it makes it so much easier for our BP (half of which live OOT)

as long as you don't have too many OOT ppl attending the RD, i think doing the thurs night is ideal

Im doing the same thing. We had to since FH's family is all from OOT so they couldn't get here a week before and I didn't want to do it the night before the wedding.
