Rehearsal Dinner opinions

Rehearsal Dinner opinions

I am having a Sunday wedding over Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately my church has 4 other weddings that weekend and can only offer me a 12:30 rehearsal on saturday. My question is, should I have the rehearsal and then let everyone enjoy the day and have a dinner a few hours later or should I have a brunch after the rehearsal? I like the idea of a dinner, but I hate to make people get together 2x in one day, it seems like a big inconvenience. On the other hand, if I have a brunch, I feel like I'm leaving all my OOT guests (about 50) in a lurch for dinner....
What do you all think?
thanks!

I like the brunch idea...people will find something to do for dinner, it's NY. You can't help the time and since everyone is gathered up, I say go for the brunch.

I think either would be fine-

IMO (and I know alot of people feel differently- please don't flame me, it's just an opinion)- it is not your duty to feed oot guests. you are already spending $$$$$ on them!!

fm me if you have questions about restaurants-

I say go with the brunch! The RD isn't really for the OOTs it's really for the BP and parents. They'll be fine on their own. I like the idea of a brunch actually! Still leaves you plenty of time to rest before your big day!

I say go for the brunch so people don't need to get together two different times.

As far as OOT guest, if you are doing OOT bags at the hotel you can prove a list of restaurants that you enjoy going to so they don't feel totally clueless.

maybe you could have the brunch and then have a cocktail party with hors d'oeurves for the OOT guests later that evening. Members of the BP who want to come can, but they won't feel obligated, you know?

I am not inviting an OTT guests to my rehersal dinner- in fact a couple of them told me(nicely) they were relieved since they had never been to NY before and wanted some time to see the sights and not be doing wedding stuff the whole weekend.

We're getting married the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend also. We're having a RD, although we're not actually rehearsing. We decided to do a sit down lunch (2-5PM) at a restaurant on the water...that way people can enjoy the day. Why would you have a brunch on a Saturday that late in the day (if your rehearsal doesn't start until 12:30 it probably won't be until 1:00-1:30)?

Is the Fri before that available? If not, brunch WAY better

I vote for brunch, ans it will be less expensive than a dinner!
