I just looked at my timeline and it said we should be looking into Rehearsal Dinner locations. FH's family is from out of state so we are going to give them a list of places. Any suggestions near Wading River? TIA!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner places
I'm sorry I don't really know of any places out there, but I'm wondering if one of those dining guides from Long Island Newsday or if your reception/ceremony site has any ideas. Sorry I couldn't be any more help than that.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner places
I'm not familiar with the area - but want to try to be of some help. Will you be inviting a lot of people to the RD or a small intimate group? I am having about 20 people so we are thinking about going into to a restaurant near the church that we both like and speaking to the manager about working something out. So I was thinking that maybe you could do something like that - where if you know of a place or maybe drive around and check some places out you could talk to the manager.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner places
We have a lot of out of town guests so we were hoping for a restaurant with a back room that we could rent out.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner places
I'm using the timeline on the Knot. I'm in a lag and actually want something to do.Also because it is being planned from out of state, I thought I'd get on it. My Future in laws are pretty slow to get on stuff so I'm giving them as much time as posssible

if you wait till the week before, you may not be able to get a place (though this is depending on what type of RD you are looking for).
we booked ours a couple of months ago, for our wedding in Feb. we gave them an estimate of how many people we'd be having (only immediate family and the BP- im feeding my guests at the wedding AND were doing the breakfast thing the next day, so they can feeed themselves friday night ) ok, i went off on a tangent... but anyway, we dont have to give them the final head count until the week of... but you should still try to book the RD at least a few months before the wedding (just try to figure in your head a basic idea of how many people would be likely to be there), but restaurants get busy around the holiday season, so i wouldnt put it off until too close to the wedding, JMO.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner places
We had ours at Desmond in the Inn and it was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Also there was that sea food place in Wading RIver that gave us a great quote too- Sea Basin
I second the Cooperage Inn. It's pretty and the food is pretty good. There is also the Sea Basin, which is good. Also, what about the Crossroads? It's cute.
