Rehearsal Dinner Places in Queens/Nassau

I was suppossed to have my RD at Strike but since I got laid off I'd rather not give them my $$$.

Any suggestions in Queens or Nassau? I already called the George Washington Manor and got a good price but I want to look around a little.

How fancy are you looking for? what about Umbertos in New Hyde Park or Baci by Eisenhower Park.
In Queens there are all those Bars/Rest in Bayside on Bell Blvd.

I had mine at Papparazi on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury/Mineola.

I am having mine at City Cafe in Garden City. I also looked at Jonathan's and Ecco.

My shower was at Bourbon Street on Bell in Bayside. I would second Jonathan's - a very nice restaurant!

jenn i went to a communion party at Abbarcciamentos about 2yrs ago.

DELICIOUS !!!!! and classy place !

We had ours at La Cisterna in Mineola .... FABULOUS food & a very nice atmosphere. We paid $35 pp no tax, everything incl.

My cousin had her First Communion dinner there at Jonathan's in Garden City and I must say it was a huge success. I'll be as detailed as possible.

Location- Prime. Right on Jericho Tpke in Garden City Park. Very easy to get to and it has a decent size parking lot.

Decor- very nice. I had never been there but it was a very nice place. Contemporary and moden. We had about 35 people there and they gave us the room to the right as soon as you walk in. It was perfect for a rehearsal dinner.

Food- REALLY, REALLY GOOD!!!!!!!! My cousin had ordered platters of Calamari (the best), baked clams, Hazelnut chicken fingers and Mozzarela sticks.

We had a choice of 5 entress. Salmon or Lemon Sole Mediterranean with Fresh Lemon, Oregano and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Chicken alla Jonathan's-Pan Roasted Chicken Breast with Grilled Vegetables drizzled with a Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Veal alla Parmigiana with Tomato Basil Sauce.
Penne alla Vodka with Julienne Chicken in a Vodka Pink Sauce.
Jonathan's Prime Sirloin Steak.

I recommend the Penne alla Vodka (REALLY GOOD) and the Salmon. FI had steak and it was good.

Drinks- We had a running tab so it was free for all. GREAT!!!! Good drinks.

Dessert- The cake was not good. Bring your own if you can.

Great place jenn - my mom works two days a week in the drug store down the block from there. She goes all the time and knows everyone there. We went there from my 30th b-day!
