Rehearsal dinner (preferably buffet) near Smithtown/Commack/Setauket area?

I'm looking for restaurant recommedations for anywhere 15 minutes away from Smithtown/Stonybrook area for my rehearsal dinner. I'm not very familiar with that area, as I'm from Nassau.

Any suggestions welcome!!

I'm looking into the Three Village Inn, but their room might be too big he said because the min is 40. and we'd be max 39.

THANKS!

39 are on the list - I'm assuming everyone on this list would be able to come. Where are you guys doing yours?

By the way - I went for my tasting with Ben and my parents this weekend on Sunday and we had the best time! Yay for SLCC!

I know one of the rooms at Three Village Inn fits at least 40, because that's the guaranteed minimum for my shower.

This is my forte haha.

Some places in the area to check out are:

Villa Sorrento and Mauricio's Orlando II are both in St. James, and good for Italian...not buffet though.

La Famiglia in Smithtown also is good, but served family style, not buffet.

Old Street Pub in Smithtown can do a buffet, but may be a little small depending on your number.

Cielo in Hauppauge on 347/Vets is great for rehearsals, but not buffet.

Mario's in Setauket is also great, but they recently went under new ownership so I'm not sure what their deal is for buffets.

I'll try to think of more...there's tons of restaurants in my area but the buffet makes it tricky.

ANd they just added new pics to the website and updated the menu - which has new wonderful stations by country for the cocktail hour where you pick 2 countries. :)

When you go - make sure to try the Caesar salad - it was DELISH and also the greek salad because it's SO beautifully presented - I think we're going to do the caesar salad presented like the greek salad is presented, haha - you'll see what I mean when you go! I don't want to spoil it for you!

How adventurous are you? LOL.

There's a great Turkish place in Setauket called the Pita House...it's behind the Wild By Nature shopping center hidden in an office park of all places. Doesn't seem to get too busy on weeknights...but once again, not buffet. Don't know how different you're looking to go haha.

I definitely would have recommended Aegean II in Smithtown, but they closed and the owner of the restaurant that opened in its place was a d!ck to us on the phone, so I would say do not go there just on general principle.

Bella Vita in St. James, but can get a bit pricey.

Maria's in Nesconset if you want to do latin food, something else different.

There's a Hibachi steakhouse in St. James called Kirin that's supposed to be excellent as well.

I hope this helped, cuz all it did for me is make me very hungry LOL.

Wow! You're so so so helpful. I'm not from that part of Long Island so I'm not even the most knowledgable about what towns are too far.

I like the Latin idea! I love Spanish food and it would be totally different from the food we're having at the wedding!
