My wedding is less than 2 months away and I have yet to plan the rehersal dinner. I figure we would have it on the south shore since a lot of the guests are staying there (in Merrick). I don't know how many guests are staying in the hotel the night before the wedding. How did you reserve a restaurant without having any idea the number of people who might be there?

Did you block rooms? I'd call the hotel and find out how many rooms were booked out of your block. I'd add the family and BP and then add another 20% to that number. No real 'formula' just my idea..

You just need an approximate amount of people to book. Final count, regardless of where it is, is usually 1 week before the actual dinner.
