Need suggestions for RD locations in the Garden City and/or Glen Cove area.
We are considering Seventh Street Cafe, as my brothers and I just threw a 40th anniversary party for my parents there back in June, and it was very nice... but I'd like some other suggestions, too!
Any other suggestions? I'm out of ideas. We aren't looking to break the bank - $50pp range before tax and gratuity (a little flexible).
ETA - the price range must include top shelf open bar, too. Also, we'd like a quiet / private room... there will likely be lots of toasts!

My first thought was definitely Seventh Street Cafe (I love that place), however you should check out a few places on Jericho Turnpike (in the Mineola area). There are so many restaurants over there!

I have to say, we were all impressed with Seventh Street Cafe at the party we threw for my parents.
I don't, however, like that the party room is in the basement (with no windows)... But, that does make it much more private...
The price works for us, too...
I was going to call La Marmite, too, to see if they have a separate party room and to see what the price / minimum is. I know they do private parties, but it appears to be on a larger scale (wedding / engagements, not smaller parties like this).

how far in advance should you actually book your rd? i think my parents are looking into that.... first time bride...i dont know much...where would i be without liweddings?

I know my parents booked the RDs for my brothers on a few months (3-4) out from the wedding.
We're looking into places / prices now so we know where our budget stands. (FI's parents gave us a sum of money for the RD and to put the rest toward the wedding. We want to know where our budget will realistically stand).
I think you can book it early if you want, but there's no need to book it really far in advance.
