Rehearsal Dinner Semi-Vent

We are probably going to have our rehearsal dinner at Danfords, so I was looking at their menu options. The menu is $++ which is fine. They are adding a 20% service charge and tax. Then I read below that the service charge isn't considered a tip. Well what the hell is it considered? Are they expecting that I am going to pay a 20% service change AND 20% tip for a 35 person rehearsal dinner. Has anyone come across this?

I never came across me yet. But in all the places that i look at is an tax and a service charge and no over tips or anything else.

That is crazy that they don't think that the service charge is the tip. All of the halls that I have looked at have the service charge as their tip. I would def. talk to them about that. It seems absurd, what is the service charge of 20% for then??
