Rehearsal Dinner Spot

Rehearsal Dinner Spot

I know that there have been several posts about this already, but I wanted to ask again for more ideas. My fiance's parents are from Indiana and are from a small town. My parents have been scouting out some local restaurants to have some suggestions for the future in-laws when they come to town in August, but I am afraid that the standard pricing per person on LI will freak them out. Any suggestions for inexpensive but nice place that can hold about 35-40 people in South Nassau county? Thanks!

Here are some that I can think of (off the top of my head):

Runyons - Merrick Road in Seaford
Wantagh Inn - Railroad Avenue in Wantagh
56th Figher Squadron - Rte 110 Farmingdale

The Wantagh Inn is very quaint and family owned and operated with delicious food.

What is considered a good price? I will probably have approx 30 people and I only budgeted $500 I would love to spend less if I could though hee hee.
Then again there is the possiblility that my FH may throw the rehearsal dinner, is it rude to ask?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Spot

I just want to let you know what we did and I am so happy that we did...

we had it in DH's aunts backyard...aunt is a fabulous cook and BIL is a great BBQer(ribs and steak...not hambergers and hotdogs)

it was great, b/c we were relaxed and didn't get kicked out!! we could leave at our own leisure and had a fantastic time...I even added out of town guests at the last minute and didn't have to worry about money!!
