Rehearsal dinner spots???

I'm looking for a nice place to have the rehearsal dinner. I have a huge BP so by the time all is said and done I will have about 50 people at this dinner, but I don't want to spend a fortune.

Any ideas?

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

I think you should give us an idea about which towns you are thinking about so we can come up with some ideas.

We are having ours at Carousel's in Howard Beach. It costs $24 a person. If you want to know what this includes, send me a forum email.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

For Nassau -

Fabio's in East Meadow - we are having my son's christening party there. Private room is very pretty. I haven't eaten there yet, but everyone has been raving about their food.

Elisa's in North Bellmore - my cousin's shower was there last year; room is very nice and food is very good.

Venere's in Westbury

Bistro on Broadway in Hicksville - I had my shower there - their private room is beautiful and the food is great!

Il Buon Giorno in Seaford - had our rehearsal dinner there, and their room was also very pretty and the food was delicious!

You might also try the Millerage Inn - they can give you a private room in the restaurant.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

Novemberbride: We are mostly considering Nassau, or Queens would be OK too.
As for Suffolk, only if it's on the border of Nassau/Suffolk.

The Church rehearsal is in Floral Park.

boosh: I will send you a forum mail message

Claud: thank you, those are wonderful ideas, I will immediately look into all of them !!!!
I've heard good things about the Millerige Inn.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

lizabeth, our church is in floral park too.. St. Hedwigs.. we are having our rehersal dinner right across the street at the Merry Pedlar... actually our priest recommended it.. very reasonable..a little small, but they are worth checking out.. and i hear the food is GREAT!!!

If you need any other info, just let me know..

ohh also, we looked into the New Hyde Park in.. also just down the road from the church.. reasonable, but i did not like the room.. they may have something nicer for a bigger group like yours..

good luck!!!!

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

There's a great little restaurant near my job in Lake Success called 'Cardini's.' The food is delicious! I think their prices are pretty good too.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots??? (long)

I don't know if this will help you specifically, but I had my rehearsal dinner for 50 people at the Huntington Hilton. We reserved one of the 'meeting' rooms on the first floor off the lobby, and they decorated it beautifully for us - with beautiful lighting, trees, flowers, etc., and we were able to have our privacy in our own room, and we were there for almost 4 hours! We had a lot of people coming from across the country, so this gave us a great chance to 'hang out'. It was a Saturday night, and I don't know about you, but I was having a hard time finding a restaurant for that many people. They wanted high turnover on a Saturday night, and they knew we'd be there for too long, so not many restaurants wanted us. This was a great alternative, and the Hilton catered it too! They even put flowers on each table for us (that they had used from a wedding that had taken place at the hotel earlier that day). It was REALLY beautiful, and the best part was, it was only $1400 for 50 people!!! Totally worth it, and loads of fun. Plus, the hotel is gorgeous, and that's where I stayed that night, as my wedding was at Crest Hollow the next day. It was great! Just a suggestion!

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots??? (long)

Wow, you guys are giving me great choices, I've been writing everything down. Lauren, I can't believe the Hilton ws only $1400 on a Saturday. My RD will be on a Thursday night. I will definitley give them a call. Thanks !!!

Tami, I will also check out the Merry Pedlar, since it's right in FP. I won't check out New Hyde Park inn, b/c you don't sound too impressed with them.

November bride: I used to work over at Lake Success !!!!! I don't know where exactly Cardini's is. Can you tell me?

I'm considering reserving a block of rooms at the Hilton for my guests (most are out of town), I never considered the rehearsal dinner there! How was the food and alcohol?

Cardini's is on Union Turnpike (right near Lakeville Road) across from Citibank. The food is unbelievable!

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

I have no idea what your ethinicity is, so this could be way off base but just in case it triggers any ideas....my FH and I wanted to do something a little different and we are both Irish, so we are doing the dinner at Katie Dalys in Massapequa (a very Irish restauraunt with a private room and great prices) and having an Irish guitar performer play too.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

we are having ours at the Orchid chinese restaurant in Garden City on Franklin Ave. They have a party room if you guarantee over 30 guests, and it is about 17 - 22 a person, this is without alcohol.

Re: Rehearsal dinner spots???

I also just found out the Olive Garden's
(in Westbury) current price with a separate room is ~ $17 p.p. This is also without alcohol, but it can be purchased (like bottles of wine/beer) separately. I thought this was a pretty good deal.
