Near Oakdale, NY....Long Island???? Also, I wanted to have it at a restaurant near me but the rehearsal night we will be at the RH in Oakdale. You think its a bad idea to have all of our wedding party drive back 40 minutes to where we live for the dinner?? or should we just have it somewhere in Oakdale? And if so, Please suggest some places for me!

I would have it near the rehersal location. There are a lot of nice places near Oakdale. We are having ours at Riverview. There is also the Snapper Inn, 21 Main, and Irish Coffee Pub nearby.

My church is in Sayville, so I'm in the same boat. I definitely want to have it somewhere right on the water.
I checked into Harbor Crab in Patchogue - and was NOT impressed.
My mom didn't have a pleasant experience last time she went to the Riverview, so that's out.
I checked into Captain Bill's in Bay Shore and that is a very high possibility. I'm just going to check out the Snapper Inn before I decide.
Anyone have a price per person for Snapper Inn?

I guess it depends what time the rehearsal is, if it is over late, you should prob have the dinner near the rehearsal, if it isn't over late then make it more convenient and have the dinner near where you live!

The Riverview is nice. There is also Collins and Main, Snapper Inn, Mannino's. There are a few Chinese rest. that are nice, like the Sweet Mandarin and Hoi Ming. I am having mine at the Harbor Crab, My FH's Mom works there and it is our favorite Happy Hour Place!!

Definitely check out The Irish Coffee Pub in East Islip. That's where we want to have ours. The food is excellent and they have smaller private rooms you can use.

There are lots of nice places around Oakdale, many of which have been suggested already. Are you guys coming 40 minutes from the west or east?

Everyone has listed all the places i was thinking of 21 main, colins and main, snapper inn riverview, i love the irish coffee house i called and got prices and as someone said they have a bunch of small private rooms the buffett was 35 if i remember right and sit sown was 39, this didnt included alcohol but the man i talked to said most people do a running tab for rehersal since people dont drink as much they wait for the wedding, lol.
