rehearsal dinner vent

so i told my fmil and sil that the rehearsal and dinner will be thurs at such and such place.... and they looked at me like i have ten heads.... they have never heard of a reahearsal dinner, and why do they need to come to the rehearsal dinner, and why does their cousin need to come too? he is only an usher... (NO he is not an usher he is a groomsman).

we are nice enough to host a rehearsal dinner and they dont even want to come because the geniuses have never heard of such a thing
