Rehearsal Dinner (when is it done usually?)

Our church scheduled our rehearsal for the night before the wedding at 7 pm. However, everyone is coming from work and different locations.

Assuming we all get out at 8 or 8:30 pm, is that when we all go to a restaurant and have a rehearsal dinner? or is that done usually BEFORE the church rehearsal?

Sorry for the dumb question, but I don't know how these things work since I've never been in a wedding or know how the scheduling works out..

The dinner is generally after the actual rehearsal

I just went to a church rehearsal where dinner was before the rehearsal. I would just work it out to be whatever time is best for your group. Her rehearsal was scheduled for 8:00 so had we done it after we proabably wouldn't have started eating until after 9.
