Rehearsal Dinner When You Don't Have a Church...

I am not having a church wedding. I will be married at the same place where I am having my reception.

I assumed that there will be no rehearsal the night before... and I think I am correct.

FMIL seems to think we still have an RD - I told her I didn't think so - but now I am wondering.

Did anyone NOT have a walkthrough the night before and STILL have rehearsal dinner?

ETA: What would be rehearsing? How to drink champagne..? Cause I got that DOWN!

We are getting married at the hall, also. We are still having a dinner since we have gifts for the Bridal Party. Theres just no rehearsal, just dinner.

I am getting married at fox hollow, I have a very small bridal party so I am not having a rehearsal dinner. My officiant does a quick run through right before the ceremony

I think you should still have a Pre wedding dinner to thank those in your bridal party. It's a nice way to spend time with the very special people before the big day comes.

I am getting married at my hall as well. I think we are still having a rehearsal the Wed or Thurs before just to walk through everything.

Either way we are defiantly having a dinner though for the BP and family to meet and present gifts.

DH is in a wedding in a few weeks where the ceremony is at the reception hall. they are having a rehearsal dinner the night before, but no ' walk through' at the ceremony site. i think she said they are just going to talk through the order of things and whos walking with who at the rehearsal dinner. you could always do something like that, or like some other girls said, maybe see if your hall could do a rehearsal during the week or something...
i think its still a good idea to have a rehearsal dinner, no matter what- as a nice way to get the bridal party together and thank them for everything....

We got married at the hall too, and the rehearsal was right before the ceremony. I didn't see the need for a dinner, but DH parents wanted to have one, and they were paying, so we had one. It was a nice way for the OOT guests (we had many - all of DHs guests) and bridal party to spend the evening before the wedding.

Although I did have a rehearsal at a church it was 2 days before the wedding. But, what we did was invite all of our guests to a restaurant as an informal get together the night beofre the wedding. It was a way for people to get together and for us to see people without the rush of the wedding day. I'm still amazed that everybody came. It was a great time!

my cousin had her ceremony at oheka before the reception and we DID have to go for rehersal! The coordinator showed us all where to stand etc... and we ran through it 2 or 3x... you might actually end up having one at the RH, call them and ask!!

We are having a RD to thank the immediate family and bridal party. We are having it the weekend before the wedding.
We are taking pictures 2 hours before the cermeony the day of the wedding so we can do a run through with everyone and it will be fresh in their heads.

We got married at Giorgio's and everyone met us at the hotel (actually the only person not staying the Friday before was my sister b/c she is local) and we did a quick rehearsal so that everyone knew who they were walking with and in what order, etc. Plus when you get married at the hall, they really take direction from you (of course they know what they are doing, but there aren't as many 'rules' as a church) so you should know what you want.

Then we all went out to dinner. It was nice for us b/c not everyone knew each other that well, so it was a bonding experience and we gave the BP their gifts.

We are getting married at Land's End on Friday and our ceremony is there too. We are having the rehearsal thursday night. I think it is a good idea so that my brial party hangs out a little before the wedding. We have a lot of out-of-towners

I don't think you have a rehersal, but you can still have the dinner if you want... There might be some things you want to discuss with BP before the actual ceremony.

we're getting married at our venue too. we're working with manager now to see if we'll be able to do walkthrough. if not, we are going to have a dinner the night before to thank our bridal party and immediate family. also, i figured that would be a good time to just talk about the details of the day.
