Rehearsal Dinners-Who comes?

Rehearsal Dinners-Who comes? It depends...

There`s not just one way to do it. I would include spouses if your attendants are married or engaged or something like that but I wouldn`t consider it a 'date' event. Also, depending on when you are having it, many people invite out of town guests. It really depends on what you want. We are having the bridal party and immediate family. My MOH is married and has a daughter. Both her husband & daughter are invited.

Rehearsal Dinners-Here`s what we are doing

Elizabeth`s right - there is no one way to do it. Half our attnedants are from out of town, so we`re doing it the night before, and inviting:

Attendants with spouses or significant other that traveled with them.

Parents and Grandparent

Reader and spouse (Fi`s godparents)

Out of town guests that are unfamiliar with the area and are staying in hotels. We did not include Fi`s family members that are originally from the area and are staying with relatives.

The one thing that is somewhat standard is that something is generally planned the night before for any out of town guests that made the effort to travel in. This could be including them in the rehearsal dinner, having a small get together at a relatives house (sometimes and aunt might host) It`s just a nice gesture so they are not arriving with nothing to do and no knowledge of the area.

We've got a lot of out-of-town friends and family on my side, so we're going to have about 50-70 at the Welcome dinner as we're calling it, although our rehearsal will be immediately before.

We are planning to keep it simple. Afterall, that`s why there is a big event. Immediate family will be invited, including parents, brothers (who are readers and best man) and sister-in-laws (one is my MOH), niece and nephew (who are the flowergirl and ringbearer), grandmother and aunt. Outside of that, we are only asking the rest of the wedding party, that is not family, and their significant others. I would like to keep this small and intimate, for those who are directly involved with the wedding.
