Rehearsal/Dinner Q....Opinions?!

Rehearsal/Dinner Q....Opinions?!

Our church does the rehearsal on a Friday night at 8pm (we are able to do it the week b4 the wedding, which we would do).

They do ALL brides/grooms' rehearsal that same night based on who is ALL there first....so
technically we could be there until 10pm or so (w/ a few little ones)

Situation 1: Do we go out to dinner at 10-10:30?!

Situation 2: We schedule the rehearsal the Thurs. before the rehearsal (BUT our BM/MOH are from CT & have 2 little ones & it would be a big hassle for them to come down 2 nights in a row, esp. having to leave work early & deal w/ 2 babies)

Situation 3: We schedule the dinner 2 weeks b4 the wedding & then do the church rehearsal a week b4 the wedding.

Situation 4: We schedule the rehearsal dinner on a Sat or Sun, even an afternoon

Situation 5: We do the rehearsal dinner BEFORE the church, although we kinda ruled this out b/c we'd like to relax & enjoy & not have to rush out to church.

HELP!

I think I will prefer situation 1. You go out to dinner after the rehearsal. And actually it's on friday night so people don't have to go to work on sat.
I know it's kind too late but do you think your church can do it earlier? Perhaps 1 hour ealier.

Thanks for your comments, well our church said they would work & do it a week before (something they weren't too happy about doing), but there's no changing the time as they do ALL rehearsals at 8pm for that entire weekend, so there could be 4 weddings waiting to go thru the rehearsal at 8pm.

I was concerned too b/c we have 4 kiddos in the bp 3, 4, 6 & 2 so 10pm would be really late for them.

I'm so torn....HELP!

I like the idea of doing the rehearsal at the church on friday and then do a lunch/afternoon thing on saturday. If you still wanted to get together with the rest of your bridal party for drinks or something friday night (minus the kids) and then have the meal on saturday at whatever time you want.

That way you will not feel rushed or like you are keeping the kids up too late. I would also talk to the parents of the kids and see what they think. You may be surprised they might say doing everything in one day would be fine for the kids.

I would go with option 1. Is there any way you can stress the the bp that they need to be there by 7:30 this way you can have a shot at going at 8 PM?
