I have come up with the following places for our rehersal dinner. Please tell me honestly what you know about these places, as I have never eaten or been to any of them. They are all located in Hauppauge.
The Grill Room

I work right around the corner from Then Grill Room and Mario's and they are both great restaurants with different atmospheres. The Grill Room has a NYC feel to it while Mario's has the traditional Italian feel...but both excellent choices non the less. You can't go wrong with either one!
I thought the original question asked for a reception site nr brooklyn...thats why I gave the Montauk Club as a suggestion bc its IN brooklyn. I have never been to a wedding there but I have been inside and its beautiful. I know Rosie Perez got married there. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful.

We are having our rehearsal dinner at Marios--My parents have gone their for years---Mario is great--very accomodating and the room downstairs is perfect for what we needed--the prices were higher than most places but you cant beat the service and the food is excellent--if you have any questions/concerns feel free to ask
Marios is on Motor Pkwy in Hauppauge and we are paying $29 a person plus another 10 for unlimited wine beer and soda--so $40 a person with tax and tip it comes to about $50 a head---like a mini wedding
