Last night me, fh, and future inlaws were debating about the rehersal dinner. We have a HUGE bridal party of 18 people. fmil says we have to invite the bp with guest and ffil said no way we dont have to. Honestly I would rather the rehersal dinner be small and intimate rather than like 70 people. I think I would invite out of towners before i invited the bp with guest.
who is everyone inviting???
and even if you are inviting bp, guests and out of towners, do u think its bad if someone didn't invite all those poeple??

Re: rehersal dinner
We also have a large bridal party of 16-18 people (depending if two out of country people can make it). We will be inviting everyone with their significant others (most of them are married or in a relationship). and we'll invite my godparents, his godparents and a few out of country people (if they come).
Whenever I've been in a bridal party, I've always been invited with fiance (even when he was my bf). BUT, I never assumed he was going to be invited. BUT, it's great to have them there, especially when there is no one else to talk to.

Re: rehersal dinner
I am inviting:
my family FH family BP with guests only if they are married or dating for a while (no guests who are just invited so they have a guest)
And...i'm not inviting out of towners unless then are family or in the wedding party. No reason for them to be at the rehearsal dinner. I've been to weddings out of town and I never went to the rehearsal dinner. Thats insane to have to invite them just because they are out of town.

Re: rehersal dinner
i think you should invite the bridal party w/guests. Not so much the OOT'ers. But if it's a combo-bp from out of town; def invite them w/the guest-KWIM?
FH was in a wedding out of state a few years ago. We were living toghether (dating for about 5 years) and we had to go down early for the Rehersal dinner. BUT they didn't invite the BP w/guests! It was very tacky. Luckily there was another Significant other there that was left stadning outside the restaurant so she & i were able to grab a bite together. So our situation was a combo of being int he BP & OOT.

Re: rehersal dinner
it's ultimately up to FIL's how many people they would like to invite but as of right now it's going to be immediate fam (parents, siblings), BP with their guests, readers with guests and the OOT guests (which is pretty much FH's fam).

Re: rehersal dinner
We will invite the BP, only one will bring a guest since she is married, we have two sets of married couples in the BP and the others aren't in serious relationships. We are inviting anyone that's coming to the wedding and staying the night before at the hotel. It's kind of an encouragement for them to do so! We are also doing this on the cheap! It will either be in a room at the hotel (will have to see the prices if they do it, otherwise we may get some outside food) or at a house that FH's father will rent. Just simple food, like a hero and some hot trays kind of deal.

Re: rehersal dinner
We are planning on doing our bp with their significant others. If they are single then I don't see the need to invite them with a guest. We also plan on inviting OOT guests.

Re: rehersal dinner
We're inviting BP and guests and out of town guests that are here but mostly that will be FH's family. Also our rehearsal is a week before our wedding so not too many out of towners will be here.

Re: rehersal dinner
we actually had this conversation yesterday on the plane home! We plan on inviting BP and guest, immediate family, grandmas, and my godparents only. If we were to include OOTers- it adds literally 100 people! For the OOTers we are having a brunch the day after the wedding.
