rehersal dinner cost?????

How much per person are people anticipating on spending for the rehersal dinner (including alcohol)? After shopping around I guess I am realizing that this will be another large expense. Just trying to see on average what others have found.

It is another huge cost and to be quite honest, this is where I decided to draw the line. The wedding, including cocktail hour and dinner will be amazing and I just don't think this expense is necessary. I am having a RD, but only at $18.00 pp.

I think mine is also around the $18-$20 range. FMIL and FFIL are paying for it (FMIL is also paying half of wedding on top of this ).

The Rehearsal dinner is going to be at Eleanor Rigby's in Mineola. They have a great private room, which is all I really care about.

I would like to host the RD at our hotel, but the cheapest package w/alcohol is 48pp, that just sounds like a lot to me. There is an assortment of salads, burgers, hotdogs, bbq chicken, desert and wine and beer for 3 hours. We had a 4 hour EP with more food and open bar for just a little more than this. However, it would be really nice to have the RD where all the OOT guest stay and where I will be staying the night before the wedding. Also, the grounds are amazing at the hotel and would be a nice experience. I tried to see if I could hire an outside caterer but they won't let me. In my mind this place is perfect, but my wallet is struggling with my mind. Again the debate between money and vision. I could easily spend the $$$ on upgrading the honeymoon or just save it, but this is also supose to be a 'weekend' experience for my friends and family. The other option is to host the RD in my FMIL house. They have a great backyard, but if it rains...also it is a 30 minute drive from the hotel to the house - not the most conveniant location.

Re: rehearsal dinner cost?????

We are not doing a traditional 'rehearsal diner' in part because our rehearsal is the morning of the wedding.

On the night before we're having pizza for anyone who is around. On the morning of we've had the hotel provide us with bagels, pastries, salads and coffee and tea in a conference room. (We talked to the restaurant in the hotel -- but they don't offer 'brunch' and I didn't want to do a 3 course lunch on the day of the wedding -- way to much food.)

If you're doing a formal wedding, you can do an informal rehearsal -- pizza w/beer or Mexican with just margaritas.

I am just getting trays of hot food. The lowest price i got was over $25 per head. We have over 35 people for the rd since we are both from huge families, and so we decided to do something small and low key.

we had ours at Irish Times Pub in Holbrook. They had a private room with a bar. Food was great. And it accomodated our party (about 42 people).
