im looking at ordering some invites for the rehersal dinner.
My question is.. how are you informing people of where and when to arrive for the rehersal at the church before the dinner? Are adding in a separate card that states this? Are you writing it on the invite.

Re: Rehersal Dinner invitation question
I am doing it all on one invite...your invitation shoudl be out before this with directions to the church or RH and then just put the address of where the RD is . GL

Not to sound stupid, but I didn't even know you had to send invitations for the RD?!?! Everyone who will be there will be at the rehearsal and I just planned on telling them by word of mouth. Is that wrong??

no you dont have to. I just thought it thought it would be a nice touch to invite them with an invitation and to make sure everyone has all the correct info and knows where and when to be there

thats a good idea... maybe i wont make it a 'rehersal dinner' invite but a 'rehersal' invite and then just state dinner to follow..
I like that

That was my problem. I know i might sound rude, but i dotn really want people watching or chatting in the back of the church but there really is no nice way to say come to the rehearsal alone!!!

I put it on the invite- meet at the church at 7 and after the rehearsal go to ____ for food, drinks, and fun.

Re: Rehersal Dinner invitation question
you can put all the info on there, the rehearsal at church and the dinner following it. Here are a few examples and different ways to do it

honestly with some we have no choice but to have their dates at the church. Half of fh's groomsmen live in long island so they will be driving from LI to queens with their wife or gf and i dont want to make the wives or gf stand outside the church waiting and taking 2 separate cars wouldnt make sense one gm and his gf are coming from jersey so cant really do that. So nothing else to really do. WHen i went to a RD a few months ago it was in LI and i wasnt going to take a separate car and meet FH JUST at the dinner and would be weird if i waited in the car. All the wives, gf's, fiancee's were in the church too

trust me its not formal at all and you wont even pay attention to anybody speaking inside the church. Even the bp is talking the whole time, its done real quick. Its not a thing where the bp is going to walk out and everybody is all quiet, you have people cracking jokes. You have church people working there talking and while the bp is walking out theyre asking the bride and groom questions so really nothing to worry about

i agree i really don't care who comes to the church rehearsal i'm just putting 8PM for guests because a lot of my bridal party's dates live nearby and we also invited a bunch of oot people that will be here that night and i'm assuming they have no interest in coming to the actual rehearsal...
