Yes - although I don't think this is something you HAVE to do, most of our out-of-towners are coming from far away and don't travel much (b/c of money issues), so we want to do something special for them.

Re: Rehersal Dinner...Out-of-Towners?
We are only inviting out of town family members.
RD would be out of control if I invited our friends who are traveling. We will probably meet up with them after dinner for drinks or something.

Oh G*d...I didn't even think of OOT friends...I was only thinking of OOT family.
Here's another question...
Say you have a family with the parents and five children (all grownup)
One of the parents is a part of the bridal party (a reader) so they get invited to the RD
2 of their kids are OOT guests so they get invited to the RD.
Do I invite the other three 'kids' to the RD? I feel bad when 1/2 of their family is invited and they aren't.

That's a tough one...since they are all grown, can't they just hang out with the other children who are not OOT guests. I personally would only invite the parents. If push came to shove, would invite the OOT kids.

We will although I dont think most of our OOT guests will be in town until the day of the wedding....no one is traveling from THAT far so I dont anticipate them coming in the day before

we are just inviting the grandparents, bridal party and dates and parents/siblings. His whole family is from out of town so it would be just too many people

We are! But 50% of the people invited are OOT so who knows how many we will have.

We did invite out of towners but we also had our rehearsal a couple of days before the wedding - we wanted a more intimate dinner without insulting or leaving anyone out.

My rehearsal dinner is two days before the wedding so no. If my RD was the night before I would though !!

No....we cannot afford more than 20. They'll make do without seeing us the night before
