My fiance and I are paying for our Wedding ourselves, we don't want to spend alot on a rehersal dinner, I know all parents attend and bridal party. My question is do grandparents attend? Bridal Party dates? Who else? Thanks all!

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
We had my grandmother attend, as well as bridal party dates for whoever wanted to bring one.

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
I do not think the grandparents should be invited. (I have only been to one where the grandparents were there but I think they invited half of the people they invited to the wedding...it was strange and too big. I think a rehearsal dinner should be more intimate where the BP gets to know each other.)
If you have any kind of readers or people bring up gifts to the alter or anything of the sort, they should be invited.
Also, I plan on inviting the parents of the ring-bearer (my aunt and uncle).

I think dates are nice to invite but not necessary.
I am inviting my BP with dates because 80% are married. I have been to several where I was not invited with a date.

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
Basically whoever is involved in the wedding generally goes. Parents, grandparents, readers, flowergirl, ringbearer, (their parents),bridal party (and their significant other). There are defineltely people you can cut out, not in my family though. Good luck to you!!

I definitely would not want to cut my grandparents out either --- they are too important to me!

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
We're just having the parents and the bridal party and us. We can't have the bridal party bringing their dates because then we'll jump from about 18 people to 30 & Jimmy's parents are paying for it.

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
We are inviting: all bridal party members with their spouses/dates parents my aunt and uncle from out of town (he is going to say a prayer before dinner at the reception) Scott's 3 aunts and uncles from out of town (they are coming from pretty far so we thought it would be nice to invite them) A note about grandparents: I wish every single day that my grandmothers were alive and I could invite them to my RD. If you are close to your grandparents I think you should invite them, if they are able to attend. Be thankful that you can.

Re: Rehersal Dinner..who attends
We invited all of our bridal party and their spouses/significant others; parents and grandparents (there was absolutely NO way that we were leaving them out!); we also invited all of our friends that were reading during our ceremony, along with their spouses and significant others. My in-laws also invited my husband's childhood friends who were traveling in for the wedding, as well as some out of town relatives.

Sorry Claud, I forgot to add you to my list. My friend who is doing a reading for me and her husband are also invited
But out of town guests do not have to be included if budget is an issue.
