Rehersal Invitations

Rehersal Invitations

I am going to sound really stupid on this one. I see many of you discussing your Rehersal Invitations-- why are you sending out invitations? Doesn't your BP know when the RD is? Are you inviting people that are not in your BP? I was just kind of going to tell everyone where the rehersal was and dinner after. Is everyone doing this in such a fancy way-- RSVP and everything?

Please let me know as we are going to look at restaurants tomorrow. Thank you

I want to say it's for those people who are inviting extras (ex. out of towners) .... but I'm not sure... any bridal party I've been in, it was just by word of mouth, nothing fancy... I'm not up to that yet, so I'm not sure how fancy it is nowadays!!

Re: Rehersal Invitations

We are doing a RD invite & like sooo many other parts of our wedding I found this out on wedding message boards! But they won't be really fancy & I will be making them at home on nice cardstock.

But do think if you're inviting out of towners sending an invite is a good thing because they may not even be aware that they're invited. I had no idea you were supposed to invite outta town guests to the RD before reading various boards, I've never been in a wedding where this was done before.

But is it necessary for the BP? Probably not, just a nice gesture

Re: Rehersal Invitations

Thank you! 99% of my out of towners are in my BP -- they are family- the only other 2 will be staying with their sister an hour away so I am not sure that they would expect to be invited. It would be more inconvient then anything else- in my case.

Thanks for the explanation Maysie

Re: Rehersal Invitations

I am sending mine out to my BP. They will invite them and their significant others, FG, RBs and readers. I think it's a nice touch.
I have no time right now to make these, so I bought these the other day, they are really nice.

I am sending them out b/c I, like Jenn, think it is a nice touch. I wanted my readers to know that they, my bridal party (half of which is out of state), and some out of town guests that will be in the area to know they are invited. It is also, for me, and easy way for everyone to know the locations, times, directions, etc. Not everyone does rehearsal invites and I don't think they are considered required.

I'm sending them to remind my BP and invited guests of the when, where, and how to get their aspect. They are just an added extra, definitely not required.

Thank you so much. Are any of you inviting your officiant to the dinner? Ours is a family friend? What do you think?

I say if he's close to the family, then yes...

In most cases they don't even come...
