Rehersal - Questions???

Ok - 1st question - what time is your rehersal??

We have the option of choosing a time but im not sure what is best. Not too early for those who have to work -- and not too late so we arent eating at bedtime I thought 5:30 sounded good - or maybe 6pm at the latest?

2nd question -- Are you inviting kids (of those involved in the rehersal) to the rehersal dinner? In our case theres only our brothers (whose kids are in the wedding and invited anyway) and 1 friend who has 2 kids(middle school age). Im thinking they should be invited - but not sure if thats necessary?

Re: Rehersal - Questions???

I am getting married on a Friday so my rehearsal is that thursay.
Rehearsal is at 5:30 (so everyone can be there at 6) and Dinner is from 7'ish to 10.

Keep in mind when deciding the time that the restaurant may only allot you specific hours for the dinner.

Good luck!

we are doing rehearsal for 6:30 and priest said to put that so we can do it around 7 o'clock since ppl come late. We have ppl coming from LI and jersey so have to give them time to get to queens. Then rd will be at 8pm.

Well we are inviting FG and RB with their parents, although RB is the son of a GM so his parents would've been there regardless...plus our jr bm and her mom is a BM. Other than this 1 bm and that 1 gm whose both kids are in our weddings, nobody else has kids

The only children invited to mine are my cousins and two of them are in the bridal party. Ours is at 7 because East Winds is so far out on the Island.

Our rehearsal is a Sat evening at 6pm (but after reading some of these posts, I'm thinking we should tell people 5:30!!!) and then dinner is at 7:30. Four children will be there, two of whom are in the wedding. All four of them are family anyway.

So im thinking i'll set it up for 6pm - but tell everyone 5:30

i cant have it too late - i get very cranky if i have to eat a late dinner. Plus some people will have to work the next day -- so they're not gonna want to be out too late.

Do rehersal dinners usually last 2-3 hours?

sometimes they can last a while it all depends, you can shorten it if you want.

If it were up to me i wouldve done it 8:30 for dinner only bc i know we'll have to wait for some ppl to arrive.
