So I am from Ohio, but getting married here in NY. I really dont want to have my rehersal dinner the night before my wedding but so many people that are in my bridal party arent coming untill thursday. (Friday Wedding)
is this as bad as i am thinking it is? or am I over reacting? My mom seems to think I am.. As of now, our rehersal is scheduled for 6:15 and our RD will start at 715ish.... how long is the RD ?
more importantly...what do i need to do the night before my wedding beside just try to relax? I know there is going to be a lot and i feel like being at the rehersal dinner to at least 930 isnt going to be good.....
I am sleeping at the Inn @ Fox Hollow the night before my wedding. I will have already checked in and got everything set on that front...but what else needs to be done the night before?

i am having my RD the night before because we have a lot of OOT bridal party members
every wedding I have been part of I have been at the RD the night before and I don't see why its a problem.

Hopefully by that point, you'll have all of your i's dotted and t's crossed.
A lot of people do rehearsals the night before.
One piece of advice...wherever you have the RD, maybe stick to wine and beer only in the package (no hard liquor)...this way, people are less prone to getting drunk the night before your wedding.
Other than that, I think you're a-okay with having it the night before.

ours is the night before..we have a day wedding so we made it a bit on the earlier side, but ive always gone to them the night before
before this site i didnt know it was even done any other way

we are doing it the week before my wedding is on a friday and i just don't want people taking off that same week 2 times I have OOT bp memebers but they dont' mind missing it

Don't worry, I actually thought this was the norm! Every wedding I've been in has been the night before, one that was Thurs for a Sat wedding was actually much harder for people with work. Ours is Fri night for Sat. Like you said, that is the time to relax, so what not with the distraction of family and friends getting together to celebrate!

I live out of town too and we're having our rehearsal and our RD the night before as 65% of our wedding party, and guests, are out of town. I think it makes the most sense!

I am in the same boat as you! I am in IL and am having a Saturday wedding in NY. Most of my bridal party is in NY already. BUT we have a lot of out of towners coming (mostly our IL friends and FH's family). I wanted to do the RD on the Thursday so that I could relax on Friday. I am nooooo good at handling stress! WELL.....most of the OOT guests are coming on Friday...so now we have to do the RD on Friday night. It will be pushing it, but we're gonna try to end it early!
We just really wanna make sure that we include the OOT guests as a 'Thank You' for traveling far and paying all this $$$ to be at our wedding.
Mine is the night before - I'm not sure why people get so concerned with this I think its actually the norm...

mine is the night before...half our bridal party is OOT. my church isn't until 5:00 the next day, so im fine. my brother's was the night before and no one had a problem with it.

We are having ours the night before. Its nice to get everyone together before the big day. Besides, its like a tradition in my family...
