rejection of tummy time

rejection of tummy time

since day one, sophia will not spend more than 2 minutes on her tummy. I just tried again using a new rattle she likes to get her to push up a bit and she just sreamed and buried her face.

When she lies on our chests in bed, she'll push up her head and control it, so she can lift her head to look at you. Can t hat be considered tummy time for strengthening? I am concerned she won't build up enough strength to ever roll over!

I think any time spent on her tummy can be considered tummy time. If she enjoys looking at her mommy more than a rattle, I'd say that's a big compliment!

She is still little give her a couple of weeks and she will like it better. Damien didn't like it in the beginning either but now as soon as you lie him down on his back he flips right onto his tummy

I think shes still young for tummy time. I dont remember exact timelines, but I would say another month maybe?

Dont worry, once they reach a few milestones it seems to never stop and soon enough theyre in Kindergarten

Try propping her in the boppy on her belly and see if that helps. Luke liked that more than flat, he use to just bury his face in the blanket and cry. I would not worry about her strength, she will be rolling with no problem. Luke hated his tummy time and had a weak neck muscle and he still rolled right on schedule. (OMG they're so cute when they first start to roll, I love it)

Even if she hates it, still try to do it even just for a few minutes to let the back of her head get a rest. LOL But I think the boppy will help alot. Also you can try putting a mirror or a toy that usually catches her eye in front of her.

Emma did not like to have tummy time until she was about 31/2 months old. She too would scream like crazy. Now at 6 months she is almost crawling (supporting herself on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth). Dont worry, little sophia will enjoy the tummy time when shes ready.

She is still little - Ryan hated tummy time when he was that little also...but soon enough all he wanted to do was be on his tummy. Even if she's only on her tummy for a minute or two - it's plenty at this point...

At Mollys 8wk checkup the doctor told me that a lot of babies this young don't really do tummy time yet. Molly doesn't really spend much time on her tummy yet.
