Various Determining Factors

It's been a few months since we've signed on the contracts for those vendors and to be honest, I haven't really even looked at them lately. Plus, I haven't been keeping a real strict budget, just trying to go with what feels comfortable. We felt all the vendors we chose were worth what they were asking and you need to remember, prices are effected by your needs.

For example, for flowers, we don't have a set price yet because we're not sure if we're going with a mix of various flowers for the centerpieces or with roses. We have a general estimate, but nothing is locked in, except the quotes they gave us for the various things we looked into. It's a little complicated to explain. But, their flowers are gorgeous!! Definitely give them a call at the very least. They only do a few weddings throughout the weekend and are not a chain store. They specialize in special affairs. One of the most impressive thing about them was the thank you notes we received from them after our initial meeting (we got it the next day) and after our contract signing (again the next day)!! So professional!

On the other side of the coin

First off, I'm not going to let skeptical's post worry me because this is the first complaint I've ever heard regarding Flowers by Brian. I do not consider the sales people there to be phony, otherwise why go to the trouble of mailing out thank yous, especially to couples who have already signed on contracts. That to me would seem to be a waste of their time and money.

Second, I never said they do one wedding a day. I said they limit the amount they do.

I appreciate that. I'm just wondering what happened when she went in to check the night before? Did things change overnight from what she saw, or did she just not go?

I wasn't jumping to any conclusions. I was simply showing a comparison. Let's face it, just because a company has no filed complaints, doesn't mean there aren't any! Good Luck planning!

Thanks for the advice. Lisa at Flowers by Brian insisted on putting together a sample for us because we're undecided about going with a mix of flowers, or going with roses for the raised centerpieces. We've put off doing this until I have a swatch of the bridesmaid dresses so she can match the color to give us a really good idea of what we'd expect to get. If we don't like that, we'll go with 3 dozen roses per centerpiece.

I know it's too early to tell, but I know me pretty well I think. And I have the feeling I would love to see my flowers in advance. Partly out of excitement and partly just to check on things. That's just how I am, always checking over things. I was just thinking this week how I wish I could check on the tables after they are set up before the reception moves upstairs from the cocktail hour. I guess I'll just have to accept that some things I won't get to see beforehand.
