white dove. I have seen the butterflies and its kind of sick, they send them to you in this tiny flat box and when you open them for release like half of them are dead. EWE!!

I'd pick butterfly because what would happen if the doves decided to poop?

butterflies would be cool but it would be disapointing if more then half of them were dead and well doves are pretty cool :)

I saw the butterfly release on Who's Wedding is it Anyway? on the Style Network. You have to keep the frozen until an hour or more before the ceremony and you defrost them. When the couple went to do the release none went. I don't know if they were dead or what but I would say doves.

At my uncle's wedding this summer we did this. We followed all the directions for 'de-thawing' and they had to be violently shaked out of the box!

I'm really not sure...at my HS graduation they let doves go, and half of them looked like pigeons. And on the butterfly side, I had a friend tell me that she was at a wedding once, and when they let the butterflies go, some of them landed on the ring bearer and he totally freaked out!! 'get these bugs off of me!' he kept yelling....SO if I were you, I'd let people know about it. !

eek.. violently thrashing doves or dead butterflies?? neither sounds all that romantic if it goes off without a hitch i think either would look amazing though
