Relocating, moving in with mom after marriage, a new nurse job, HELP!

There are some bumps that need to be ironed out.
First: I get married on July8. My apt lease expires Aug 31 with my roomate. When is the best time to resign from my job?

Second: Relocating to ny. My fiance recommends moving in with mom to save $ as we search for our new place.

Third: Where do I work? I'm a new grad registered nurse, and I have no idea what's a great hospital to work for in NY that has great benefits, etc.

I just don't have anyone to talk to about this, or vent to about except for liweddings. TIA.

Same here...both my mom and my uncle work as a nurse in Mt. Sinai in Manhattan, they told me that they always hiring nurses.

As of moving with you FH mom...well how good is your relationship with her? If you guys get a long well, maybe you should move with them temporarily but I suggest not longer than 3 months.

New York and Presbyterian Hospital was voted the best hospital recently in NY Magazine. Check out their website and they have a list of all the top NYC hospitals. FYI nurses make tons of money in NY.

You should totally live with your MOL until you find a place in NY. It'll save you tons of money and if you get into a good hospital you'll buy a place in no time!

I work at Sloan Kettering in the city. I think we are the highest paid, and the most spoiled nurses. Although it's mostly cancer and really acute. New York Cornell and Ny Presb are great hospitals as well. FH works at NYU. My SIL works at Winthrop in LI. Aunt works at LIJ, FBIL works at North Shore. One of my best friends work at Einstein/Montefiore, and St. Francis is also a great hospital. It depends what field ure interested in, and where exactly u want to work. I'm glad to help!

As far as living with ure mom, i'd say only a few months bc it can get sticky. U'll be able to save a lot while working tho, so u guys will be fine! I wish I would've stayed home longer!
