There are lots of tech related jobs on LI. Check out Computer Associates (www.cai.com) or Long Island Forum for Technology (I think its www.lift.com/net) and LISTNET (you'll need to search for their web page). They may also have job postings on line for their members.
It's amazing some of the tips quoted, I was assuming that everyone got 15% to 20% of their fee. Am I glad I read this article! Thanks Rachel!
When locating jobs & home, know that if you can live west of you job (so you'll be travelling against traffic), your commuting will be better. West bound traffic on the LIE/NSP is horrendous in the AM.
The housing market is super tight all over LI - people are receiving bids on homes before they even look at the inside. Being preapproved on a mortgage is key from a timing perspective...
Would you consider renting first - so you can get your bearings - and then shop around? Might be an easier way to go.
