How many of you are havnig the exact wedding you planned back then?
I guess mine is a 180 from what we wanted. We wanted a $10000 wedding in St. Thomas, all friends were on board and even willing to make it their vacation, but family had other ideas. I am very happy with what we have put together.
When we started planning a LI wedding, this website made it all fall into place (with a few extras )

close but it happened in the US versus Italy...
we wanted to get married in Italy on the beach but found the Crescent and decided to have it here... good thing cant imagine the stress of that!! and the euro and the exchange would not have been good!
with the help of LIW and mother nature all the pieces came together and i got what i wanted plus - a sunset wedding... :)

We were supposed to have a small wedding reception abroad a cruise ship, family was willing to make that their vacation as well.. but then last summer we went on the Crown Princess and we were in that ship that tilted and almost killed us so yeah I cancelled that ASAP
we ended up having a big bash on long island

Our wedding is nothing like we thought! I originally thought ... my first idea was a masquerade theme complete with feather centerpieces and jeweled masks... then we formed a whole orchid theme and the colors became green and purple. Then it was going to be cruise/destination wedding and just close friends and family would come on a cruise with us and we'd get married on the boat... Now here we are! A black and white color and swarovski crystal theme!!

Our vision complete changover too. We had planned a destination wedding in barbados but after locking horns with our horror of a wedding planner we cancelled it and stayed home. I had had two visions in mind; the fairytale wedding and the tropical destination. I got neither. But overall i am happy with the way the day turned out. My only huge regret as most people already know is our pictures-wish we had spent more money on them and really gotten what we wnated but then again it wsnt the photographers fault as much as my family's for getting me there late. Cest la vie. we will have our entire life togetehr to take mroe photos-just ahve to remember our cameras!

we always talked about what we wanted to do. and we are having our christmas wedding in december!! it all worked out, except we didnt expect the 4 month booking.

Our wedding was exactly as I had imagined it from the very beginning. The only thing different was the color scheme. My original colors were pink & brown. I eventually went w/ green & brown with coral accents.

we origianlly were going to have just a dinner with a few close fam members and friends.... but that didnt work and we now ended up with the whole big bash!!

I am pretty shocked that mine has stayed mostly as I imagined it. I didn't anticipate having so many bumps along the way though -- I thought there would be nothing to stress about!

As of right now- 15 days before...It is all going according to plan-
One thing I was not expecting that wedding planning was going to bring out the best and worst of people....
But it is what it is- and it is also a good thing---I found out when I did

not too, too much has changed from my original ideas. i wanted to get married on the beach; we are, i wanted to get married at home in NY; we are. the only major changes were i originally wanted everything purple and now nothing is purple and if we got married in the spring, i would've wanted tulips, but that's not possible for a september wedding!! but i can't wait to see how everything comes together in NINE DAYS!!!

Ours is completely different then originally planned! At first we were having a destination wedding and close friends & family were willing to come. Then we decided to have it here but something very small. Well.....230 people later is far from small!!!!

We definalty have what we set out to have from the begining...even out head count is what we hoped it would be...but if i could go back and change things...I would have done a destination beach wedding. We're both sort of kicking ourselves but we figured we'd renue our vows one day and do that 10 years from now or something.

mines actually almost exactly what we always wanted, excpet not at a reception located on a beach.. but we both love love love the place we booked, so I guess its still exactly what we wanted!!

Originally we were going to be married On Feb 25,2006 at my Mom home. Because my Mom was very ill and she wanted to give me away. Everyone in our family were going to fly down to Tampa Fl. to be with us, and once we got home we would going have the wedding that Mom wanted us to have. Sadly we lost her on Feb.3,2006, but I know that both of my parents and FHs Mom will be right beside FH and I on the day we marry.

we always wanted a fall wedding, but never really had a plan until i picked my girls' dresses (plum)... and from there it turned into the wine-themed extravaganza it is now!!

So far it's exactly how I've always dreamed it would be! In the fall with burgundy bridesmaid dresses and fall colored flowers! My dress however is completely opposite what I went in there looking for... I wanted simple but elegant and not poofy at all- and I came out with a princess gown! Which although is not what I envisioned- it's what I loved!
