I have a question…tell me if you think it’s a good idea.
I want to do something the day of the wedding in the memory of my grandparents and uncle who have passed. My FH also lost his grand parents and aunt. I was thinking of typing their names on a pretty piece of paper and putting it in a frame and lighting a candle and leaving it on the dais saying something like “Those who couldn’t be here today are in our hearts always. We love and miss you dearly” and put their names following. Do you think that a good idea.
I don’t want it to be morbid…no pics or anything just their names
Let me know!
Thanks

Re: Remembering those who passed...
I am doing very personal things to remember both of my grandmothers and my grandfather who have passed away. I was VERY close to my grandmothers so it is important to me to have them close by the day of the wedding. I am wearing my Nanny's diamond cross, carrying my Grandmother's prayer book (the same one that she carried when she got married). I am also having a line in our Prayer of the Faithful 'For those smiling down on us from Heaven may they be surrounded by God's love and peace'
I am keeping the day very happy and not doing anything that will make me or my parents cry.

Re: Remembering those who passed...
We had the pascal candle lit at the ceremony and in the program I wrote
'The pascal candle is lit in rememberance of Stefani's and Jeremy's grandmothers, Karolina, Elizabeth and Jo, and all of our friends and family that are no longer with us but are here in spirit.'

Re: Remembering those who passed...
At the back of our program, we wrote a message about honoring those family members that had passed and listed there names. It was especially important/powerful since we had lost someone on 9/11.

Re: Remembering those who passed...
I not doing anything during the mass I feel it will make it real rough on me instead. I am getting versions of my bouquets made up that are grave blankets and fiance and I are going two days before the wedding and laying them down at the graves
my grandfather passed away 2 weeks before the wedding...so I took a rose from the funeral and used it in my FG basket...my also pinned his bout to my cousin.
we mentioned all of our grandparents in our program...
