Sorry he is being rude on the phone - no excuse for that.
I find it odd that they'll only do tastings before 5pm. Is there someone else there you can explain your situation to and ask for a different time?
It's not at all unusual for RH's not to have rehearsals. You can go over it a little bit before the ceremony the day of (or somewhere else the night before) -- but it'll be fine. Plenty of girls don't have rehearsals.
Good luck.

Re: upset near tears
I'm sorry you are going through this! I am not getting married at the Royalton, but our tasting was also before 5pm, however we asked to do it on a Saturday afternoon and we were accomodated. Why don't you try asking? As far as a rehearsal, most RH's operate that way. You can still have a 'thank you' dinner for your family and BP. I don't think we are rehearsing either.

Re: upset near tears
A lot of RH don't do rehearsals, mine doesn't. Really though, a ceremony is a ceremony. You decide how you want your BP to walk down the aisle and tell them. They've seen it all before too so they'll be fine.....in the end it all ends up ok and your officiant leads the ceremony so all you really have to do is follow their lead.
ETA: You can still have a rehearsal dinner to thank your BP and get together and go over how you'd like them to walk. You just won't be doing it at the place.

Re: upset near tears
Most RH's dont have rehearsals until right before the ceremony. My two best friends did it that way and everything went great so dont worry. They both had rehearsal dinners anyway, just to get close friends and family together for dinner. As for the tasting, my RH does the same thing. i am sure if you tell them your situation, they will find a way to accomodate you. thats what i am going to try to do too. good luck and im sure it will work out

I agree with all the other ladies about not having a rehearsal. That will be fine, and it is pretty normal. It is not OK that this guy is making you feel uncomfortable and is not answering your questions. I think you should absolutely speak to the other people there that you are comfortable with, and request that they be your BM instead. I'm sure they will accomodate you. You deserve to be treated properly!

Re: upset near tears
Sometime when you work with a certain person you have a repore(sp?) with, when you have to work with someone else, the experience is a letdown. I would call Michael and speak with him. Certain RH's will allow a rehearsal if there is no event there the day before. Tastings are tricky, they need a chef there to cook for you. But to not be able to have one on a weekend before an event. Of coursemost people work and most Brides and Grooms use all their vacation timefor the HM! I would take a deep breath and deal with Michael and if you feel comfortable enough with him ask him if you could deal with him for the next 7 weeks. GL, I hope it all works out for you!

I would just ask for Michael from now on and let him know that you have not been happy with the way you have been treated.

Re: upset near tears
so sorry that you are dealing with such a rude person...unfortunately just about every RH has the policy about having rehearsal only the day of for just about 30 mins, alot of girls on here have mentioned this too for many different RH's.
The tasting thing though they really should try to accomodate you, i mean you are paying all this money and you want to taste the food.

I think you should call this guy Gerard out on his rudeness. I would tell him, 'Listen, I feel like you are blowing me off and I deserve better treatment that this.' But that's me. :) Maybe you can speak to someone above him? Like the Banquet Director?
Good luck!

Re: upset near tears
If you dont like the way he talks to you I would definitely call Michael and ask if you can work with him from now on and explain to him your feelings. As far as the rehearsal most RHs dont do a rehearsal before hand so that may not be able to be changed.
As far as the tasting-we didnt have a tasting at our RH but I was ok with that being that we had been there for other affairs and already knew we would be happy. Call Michael and see if there is anything that they can do about the times. If not then take maybe half a day from work adn do it

Awww...that makes me so sad to hear that you are being treated this way - especially since it really is such a nice place. However, I have to say, I have a feeling I know what you are talking about with that person....we booked with him too...however, on the wedding day and really most times that I called before hand, I didn't have to talk to him, so I can't say that I ever experienced the rudeness. I would definitely tell Michael how you are feeling. I don't think they would want to risk their reputation that way - and hopefully they will make it right for you. Good luck with everything!

I didnt see the post before it was removed but from reading the reviews I can get the gist of what is being said...
I agree with your opinion that he can have bit of an attitude, i had the same feeling. I booked with Tito and have spoken to Michael before as well. Maybe give one of them a try. Tito i believe is the main owner so he might be able to help you out. Hope it goes well!

Re: removed
It's sad that they remove them. How are people going to know what they are dealing with if you can't discuss it?
