Removing A/C Unit Question

If you have some in the wall air conditioning units, and you wanted to remove them, what has to be done to patch that area?

I'm assuming you drywall the inside, but how hard is it to fix the outside (shingles)?

What if one is through a firewall?

How expensive would that be to have done?

Anyone know?
