Removing Fake Nails/ Wraps

Removing Fake Nails/ Wraps

I have naturally long, strong nails and made the enormous mistake of being talked into having my nails 'wrapped' with glue and powder.

I have been trying to get this off for the past 2 hours....I've soaked in acetone and I can't get it entirely off. I already know my nails are going to be a brittle mess, but I just want to get this stuff off!

Any suggestions on how to get the glue off?

THANK YOU!!!!!

I was going to say to soak them in pure acetone.
Uh-oh I have the same thing on my nails (glue and powder).
Am I in trouble?

Keep soaking... i have done that a million times, your nails are going to be a little brittle afterward..
do you have one of those wooded cutical pushers? you can scrape some of it off that way..

what about buying the remover for artifical nails?

It has to be Pure acetone. I actually went to the place that did mine and asked them for the stuff after soaking in nail polish remover for hours! The pure stuff took in off in an hour!

I have had my nails wrapped for 8 years, I took the wraps off for the first time 3 months ago & I had no choice but to cut them because they got so weak.

I am putting tips on for my wedding next month so I get used to them again, and untill my real nails grow underneath, then the wraps go back on. Without wraps my nails always break with all my work & house work

Why are you taking them off besides the annoyance of maintaing them?

I went through this myself. After you get them off invest in a really good nail strengthener. Your nails are going to be very brittle and weak. i would also suggest you cut them fairly short until they get stronger. I use Nailtiques on my nails to strengthen them. It works great. You'll see an improvement very quickly.
