Any one have any experience with Alterations at REnates in Lindenhurst?
I bought my dress at netbride, but just made an appt at Renates to do the hem since they are really close to my house.
Any problems ?

They also have a place in Merrick. I got my prom dress there and had my alterations done there and I did not have any problems. They were very nice and did everything I wanted done.

Renates is not that great of a place. My SIL had a BM dress from them, and the quality of the alterations were bad not only on her dress, but on all of the BM dresses. Hems falling down, straps breaking, threads unraveling. One of the girls had to change back into her 'street' clothes because the dress fell apart so badly. And they were rude. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Hi Vicki, Are you sure it was the one in Lindenhurst?
Just checked with the Better Business bureau and the Renates of Lindenhurst has no complaints and is listed as satisfactory.
There is another Renates in Bellmore (different owner) that has had problems and has 2 complaints listed with no resolution.

I got a BM dress there about four years ago and altered no problems but they charged too much I thought for the alterations I went to lindenhurst one

Do you remember how much? I didn't have my dress with me when I stopped in, so they couldn't give me a price. I am just having the bottom cut and hemmed. Nothing else...what would you think that should run me?

I was in a wedding in Sept. and the bms got their dresses there-there were no problems. The moh was even 9+ months pregnant and they accomodated her. My mom also got her dress for my weddings there and there where no problems. They were not expensive for bm dresses- $35 cap I think- I don't know about bridal gowns though
