FH and I currently in the market for an apt since the process of buying a house is insane and we have very little time. I was wondering can you negotiate the rent on an apt that you dont already live in? We really like an apt but it is a little out of our range... can a negotiation process begin??
yay or nah...
TIA..

Re: Rent negotiations..
I know a lot of times if you do a longer lease (i.e. 2 instead of 1 year), they will lower it.

Re: Rent negotiations..
I'm looking too and my realstate agent says YES. I'm nervous to negotiate a lot though. One place we love is 1575, so I want to negotiate them down to 1500. But I'd ideally like to do 1400 but idk if they'd go for it...

Re: Rent negotiations..
All over. I'm going Friday to see some places in Oceanside and Oyster Bay and then back to see two places I like in Mineola and one in Franklin Square.
FH and I will eventually get my parents house and with the wedding, we don't want to go over 1500 a month.
You?

I think you should definitely ask and if they hesitate, offer the longer lease! Hopefully they will bite, good luck!

Re: Rent negotiations..
I saw one in Williston Park for like 1100? It was 3rd story and one bedroom. We're going to see another in Williston Park soon. It's near FH's work.
