Goddam thats cheap. I am paying $23 a month just based on the ring insurance. But maybe I have more ring coverage... and I guess being in Queens (compared to Long Island) doesn't help either.

Re: Renters Insurance
The quote I for was $500 for renters insurance and we are insured for over $50k. It was with Encompas. Is that too much?

Re: Renters Insurance
We had ours with geico, but really it was with travelers we paid 125 for the year and we cover up to 30,000. (I think)

Re: Renters Insurance
It totally depends on your coverage and where you live. We've got both personal and business coverage since FH runs his business from home, as well as my engagement ring. We're paying just over $500 a year for our insurance in Queens. We have a broker that we use (my family has been using them forever), but our coverage is through Hanover.

Re: Renters Insurance
We're paying about $250/year I believe with Allstate and that is for renters and my e-ring. We are covered for about $30,000 as well.

Re: Renters Insurance
We had ours with Nationwide. It was tied to our auto insurance and was soooo reasonable!!!

I just got homeowners through Met Life but I know they also have Renter's and they are pretty reasonable.

Re: Renters Insurance
Check with Geico or whoever you end up getting car insurance with - they will often give a small discount if you have more then one type of insurance with the carrier.
