Renting a wedding gown

I am considering renting a wedding gown for the big day...but have no idea what the deal is with that. Does anyone have info. on this?? Would they be able to alter it? TIA!!

I didn't end up renting a gown but I did initially start looking at renting as an option. Basically, you choose the gown that is closest to your natural size. They can and do alter the gown for you, but it may not be perfectly altered as if it were your own gown so I felt safer looking at gowns that would not need extensive alterations. When you are picking the gown, you should keep in mind how the dress is made and where the seams are. There are many places in Chinatown that rent gowns, as well as Wedding One, which is in Flushing. They will also usually throw in the veil, tiara, and accessories with the gown. I think the price is roughly $500 since they have to clean the gown after each use. Hope that helps.

Definately go to Chinatown, they have great tailors that can help you, and I'm sure you can rent something that's really nice. HTH
