Renting an empty space & outside catering

Renting an empty space & outside catering

I am newly engaged and have quickly realized that I'm not into the typical Reception/Catering Hall look of Long Island. A lot of the spaces I've been attracted to are Lofts and empty Studio spaces in Brooklyn (Pochron, Smack Mellon, etc).

For those of you who have rented empty spaces and had to provide tables/chairs/plates/utensils and all of the food, what were the vendors/caterers you used? How much does that all cost? I have no idea what bringing an outside caterer for a sit down dinner or buffet could cost!

Also, was it a lot of work to do everything yourself? Sometimes I think it might be easier to just do it at a well-oiled reception hall...oh the conflict! HAHA

Thanks in advance! :)

Congratulations on your engagement!

Do you mind if I piggy back with you on this thread?

I'm also having my reception where I would need to find off site catering, linens, etc. I am overwhelmed by the thought of not having it all in a nice packaged RH where most of those things are taken care of for you but it is possible!! My cousins have done the same so I'm sure I can do it all myself *crosses fingers*.

Any info that can be given would be great!

No problem Kristan! I'm glad there's another gal in the same boat as me

I think it's definitely a great idea but it may be helpful to hire a coordinator to steer you in the right direction!!!

My coordinator Christine Viola at Exquisite Affair Productions is amazing. She's coordinated/planned weddings at Angel Oreseanz and many other venues that required lots of outside vendors.

Good luck!!!

I absolutely loved the Rotunda at Kingsborough College in Bklyn great place to look. You have to bring everything in though
