I am renting out my apartment in the city and want to do an open house to see if I can rent it on my own before going through a realtor.
Any advice? Should I take out an ad in the NY Times?
Also- for anyone who has a co-op- I am worried that the doorman or super will freak out if I hold an open house on a weekend- any experience with this in your building?

Re: renting out my city coop- need help!
I think that you should probably talk to your doorman or super to see how the building deals with these thigns or what is allowed. I doubt that they will have a problem with it- people do it all the time. But you should just check to see what the rules are.
Secondly, you may want to place an add on www.craigslist.org in addition to the NY Times. The NY Times might be a fortune- Craigslist is free and a ton of people use that to find apartments in the city.
I know some people looking for apartments- if you tell me what kind of apartment it is, what area your's is in and how much you are asking, I can pass it along to those friends.
