Renting vases from Florist standard? How do you tell guests they can't take them?

Renting vases from Florist standard? How do you tell guests they can't take them?

Hey All,

The florists that I have met have mentioned that the vases for tall centerpieces are for renting only. Is that standard? I understand that they may cost a lot of money. I don't mind purchasing vases if that ensure that the guests can keep the vases and flowers?

Also how would you go about telling your guests not to take the vases homes (they are allowed to take the flowers, however)?

I feel like it's so tacky to make such an announcement during the reception, but how do I insure that no one takes it home. I don't want to end up paying for missing vases.. thanks all!

At some of the florists you don't have to rent the vases. I know that a friend used Burtons and we took the vases home.
But if you have to rent them, you could have someone wrap the flowers for the guests and remove the vases from the table at the end of the night. this way they would know that the vases were not theirs to take.

The DJ announced it! PLus workers at Flowerfields helped the guest take the part top with the flowers on it off of the vase!! It won't be a problem. To be honest I never even thought about it!! The RH's deal with all the time!!

Just tell your RH and they will let the matre'd and wait staff know and they will have the dj make an announcment.

I know some will sell them, but most rent the candlabras because its not as simple as them just ordering more. They have minimum order amounts for their suppliers.

So you might rent 20 and 10 guests take them home, but the florist cannot just order another 10..if that makes sense.

Also, the candlabras can be like $200 each

Im sure the glass are much cheaper.

They all have little bowls that the flowers go in so your guests can just take the bowl.
