replys going in slowly

I have 9 days left on my RSVPs and I know I still have a lot out there. When the 24th rolls around I am thinking of sending a little note out to the stragglers. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to write...?


Something like...

We have not heard from you yet! Please send your RSVP back as soon as possible. Thanks , Heather and Mike?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Honestly it's the last week they come flooding in. Seems that SOME people think the following:

RSVP is only if youre out of town
RSVP is like 'that week of' not that day of
RSVP is put it in the mail around that time
RSVP is put in the mail sometime that week of
RSVP is 'cant I just call?'

RSVP is to be received no later than that date!!

I have posted this a few times but keep in mind that many people flag RSVP's to be sent in for their due date. People do not share doing them as a priority (ARGGGH is right!) anyway, typically LOTS of them come back right after the RSVP date - -as lots of folks sent them out then. I would NOT do a note; the best way to handle is assigning the least busy member of the bridal party - NOT YOU - to call and say this (No leaving VM, no phone tag):
Hi, this is xxx calling regarding the Jones/Johnson wedding. We need to give the final head count in to the caterer so must know if you are planning to attend. If you are coming, please call ***** and let us know. If we do not hear from you (state whenever is 48 hours from call) then we will assume with regret that you will not be able to make it.
Thank you for your good wishes. Goodbye. No message other than that and you are all set.

I have to agree with the other ladies...the last week they just pour in...but my RSVP date was 10/6 and I'm still missing some. I just had my mom or his mom (or some other close relative call) b/c I did not want to that person to feel as if I was putting them on the spot.

Some were actually surprised b/c they claimed to have sent them.


At this point - those who I have not heard back from I'm personally giving one last call too...and letting them know that if I don't hear back I'm assuming that they aren't coming. Of course...I'll say it in a nice tactful way.
